Sterling Smoke Damaged House
The Before Photo illustrates how smoke from an open fire in a Sterling home can badly adhere to and stain all structural surfaces. The heat drove the sooty residue into the porous drywall material and coated the painted trim and wood surfaces with a greasy film. SERVPRO can employ chemical sponges to wipe away most of the residue as shown in the After Photo. This room was sealed (the plastic sheeting) to remove the noxious odors with the placement of several hydroxyl generators to convert the offending compounds. We always try to restore rather than replace fire-damaged elements. This room is ready for the application of an odor-retardent primer, better than demolition and a start-over. Count on us to do what is best for your home.
